2014 Recharge Trail Run Recap
Our first inaugural Recharge Trail Run was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who participated! It was a beautiful day, perfect for trail running. We had 187 folks register for the run, and 160 crossed the finish line. Our 15K Backcountry overalls were David Andrews (1:07:26) and Heather Welsch (1:11:54). 15K Masters went to Ty Tracy (1:12:44), and Heidi Smith (1:24:33). 8K Overall winners were Treye Denton (34:56), and Marissa Villareal (41:57). 8K Masters were Travis Frampton (41:11), and Jenny Mendoza (52:42). Congrats to all who finished the race!
We raised $3500 that will go back to educational and recreational programs, and will also assist with staff project needs and equipment to name a few. We’d like to thank our awesome volunteers and generous sponsors: MBS Fitness, Uncommon Fare, Fleet Feet Sports, NISD, RoadID, Robert Parker Photography, and eDragon Productions.

Join the Friends of Government Canyon for our annual fundraiser, The Recharge 8K/15K Trail Run which benefits the FoGC, a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit organization that raises funds and provides volunteer services to help maintain, preserve, and protect Government Canyon State Natural Area (GCSNA).
8K runs through the Frontcountry on the Savannah Loop and Lytle’s Loop trails. An easy to moderate course that is great for beginning trail runners and walkers.
15K is a hilly, rocky, challenging course that runs through the scenic Backcountry. Some of the natural areas most scenic areas are on this course!
