If you spend any time in the Back Country, there’s a good chance you’ll meet Mr. Murphy. His law states, “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”, and usually at the worst possible time. Join SOS Adventures Master Outdoor Leader Joey Rios and learn the skills you’ll need to be prepared and stay alive! This interactive course is designed to teach adults the skills they’ll need to be confident and safe if they ever get lost or experience trouble outdoors. Activities will include demonstrations and hands-on instruction. Program open to ages 14 and older; all minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian; no pets please. Reservations required and will be accepted through Noon Friday April 7, 2017. Class size limited to the first 12 who sign up. Sorry, no group reservations. Include name of each participant, age if under 18, e-mail address and telephone number for each reservation. For more information, email us at: reservations@friendsofgc.org or call (210) 688-9055; ext. 2009. Natural Area entrance fees apply; program subject to cancellation.

The fine print

IMPORTANT: Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of this program; if the natural area is experiencing unusually heavy visitation you may get caught waiting in line to get past the Fee Booth, and we’d hate for you to be late to the program! Dress for the weather; bring plenty of water, a snack and sun protection. Meet at the Exhibit Gallery by the main office.

Limited to 12 participants.

Sorry, we have reached our maximum number of participants for this event.
